Susan Taylor is the Montine McDaniel Freeman Director at the New Orleans Museum of Art where she has served since 2010. She has placed NOMA at the center of the conversation about cultural organizations and their responsibility to building a community, positioning the museum as a center for cultural activity in New Orleans. She has developed ambitious exhibition and acquisitions initiatives and placed a renewed emphasis on education programs that serve schools from pre-k to 12th grade.

Taylor currently serves as President of the Association of Art Museum Directors and is a member of several AAMD committees and task forces. She also chairs the Museum Advisory Board of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College and serves on the boards of the Corning Museum of Glass, the International Journal of Cultural Property, the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as, the advisory board of the Times Picayune. Prior to New Orleans, Taylor led the Davis Museum and Cultural Center, Wellesley College and the Princeton University Art Museum.
