Sports columnist for the New York Times, author of “Indentured: The Epic Scandal of the NCAA”

Joe Nocera is the sports business columnist for The New York Times. He joined the Times 10 years ago as a business columnist before moving to the op-ed page in 2011. The focus for most of his career has been on business, including 10 years as a writer and editor at Fortune, as well as a business columnist for Esquire and GQ magazines, a contributing writer for Newsweek, and a writer and editor at Texas Monthly and The Washington Monthly. He is the author of four books: A Piece of The Action (1994); Good Guys and Bad Guys: Behind the Scenes with the Saints and Scoundrels of American Business (2008); All The Devils Are Here: The Hidden History of the Financial Crisis, co-authored with Bethany McLean. (2010); and "Indentured: The Inside Story of the Rebellion Against the NCAA," with co-author Ben Strauss. It was published in February 2016.
